When was the last time that you received a Christmas Card?

You can consider me old school, but a handful of selected friends receive physical Christmas cards from me almost yearly. If you are those few who still get a card from me, you must be unique.

When I was much younger, I used to design, draw, and colour my own “limited edition” Christmas and Lunar New Year Cards. However, I stopped many years back as my commitment picked up and thoughts started to clutter my “creative self”. Still, I choose to shop for physical cards and send them out to my friends.

Except for those standard cards from agents, I am only receiving cards from two of those I sent. Some will SMS and thank me, which I am grateful for, and some will choose not to do anything. It is an effort to buy cards, buy postal stamps, write and sign on the cards, and finally post them. Thus, I review whom I am sending after a few years. You can call me picky, or I shouldn’t demand anything in return when I am sending. You are not wrong, and I am not either when I choose who I send those cards to.

If you are still receiving cards from someone you know, do know that you are unique enough for that person to make an effort to send you a card. The minimum that you can do is send an acknowledgement via any short messaging.

Keep this tradition going! Merry Christmas to all my readers, and enjoy this festive season.
